WHAT IS THE CONFIDENTIAL INTERMEDIARY PROGRAM?

The confidential Intermediary Program (C.I.P.) is an exciting dynamic service available to help reunite families separated by adoption. the program trains, certifies and monitors confidential intermediaries (C.I's) who are experts at searching for and locating people. ( for eligible parties, see list )

WHAT PARTIES MAY USE THIS SERVICE?

* the adoptee, the person who was adopted, must be age 21 or older

* the birth parents of the adoptee who must be age 21 or older

*the adoptive parents of an adoptee who is age 18 or older, or if the adoptive parents are deceased, the adoptee's guardian.

*the spouse (if the legal parent or guardian of at least one child of a deceased adoptee)

*the children or grandchildren of the deceased adoptee.

*birth grandparent, if the birth parent is deceased

*biological sisters and brothers of the adoptee, who must be age 21 or older.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE A C.I. OVER OTHER SEARCH OPTIONS?

*SUCCESS only 7% of people sought are not located

*TRAINING for C.I.'s to make contact discreetly and be sensitive to the issues of the parties involved

RESOURCES such as adoption agency files, maternity home files and court files, as well as original and amended birth certificates are available to C.I.'s
