To whom it may Concern, I am writing in response to your letter regarding what services this agency provides Adult Adoptees, Adoptive Parents or Birth Family members. Our state does not maintain a registry for Adult Adoptees and Birth Family members. Our agency can provide non-identifying information and recorded medical information to adult adoptees upon the request of the adoptee. Our agency can initiate a search for a birth parent or adoptee at the request of one or the other without a court order. This search is conducted by this agency and maintains the right to privacy for both parties should they wish to have their privacy maintained. We will facilitate a contact/reunion if that is the desire of both parties. At the present time we do not keep automated records of the results of these searches. Also, our law only provides for the above type of searches to be done without a court order. Any other type of search, i.e. sibling or other relative requires a court order.
