TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
In response to your recent request for information, North Dakota has an adoption search/disclosure law (NDCC 14-15-16) which provides for active search by adult adoptees, birth parents or birth siblings for another individual. Personal and confidential contact may be made by the agency conducting the search (licensed child placing agenices) and authoriztion by all parties before disclosure of identifying information is made. We do not have a passive registry. The agencies may release non-identifying information upon request. The agencies also provide supporting services to individuals involved in the search process. We do not have a vehicle for automated record keeping of search results.
