We have received your request for information concerning adoptions.
Upon recepit of an adoption order, a new birth record is prepared. Once a new record of birth has been prepared, the orginal record and the documents which enabled us to make the new certificate are placed in a sealed file which may be opened only by court order. Birth information must be sought only through the Department of Social Services under 63.1-236. We are unable to furnish you with ANY information you requested.
If you are seeking information concerning your biological parents, it is suggested that you contact the Adoption Report and Resource Section, Division of Social Servies, 730 East Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219-1849
